Milton Glaser is one of the preeminent contemporary American graphic designers. He studied art at New York's Cooper Union and then in Italy, thanks to a Fulbright scholarship. In 1954, he and fellow designer Seymour Chwast founded the influential Push Pin Studio, where he served as President until 1974, when he opened his own studio. Glaser co-founded New York Magazine in 1968, designed typography, restaurant decoration, and supermarket installations, was co-chairman of the Aspen Design Conference and has taught for over fifty years at the School of Visual Arts in New York. This exceptional collection of Glaser's posters spans five decades of work, and is an artistic, social and cultural snapshot of America over the last forty-five years.
